Planning

Task 1

Initial Planning Ideas

The initial planning ideas allowed us to simply organise our thoughts of how we want our music video to end up. Some of these ideas will be taken further than other, which may just be dumped. However, what was extremely helpful about this task was the way we organised our thoughts, allowing us to see what we truly wanted of the final product.

Task 2

Moodboard

Task 3

Costume Plan

Task 4

Photographs of Location

During this task we went a took photos of potential locations that we can shoot our music video. This was helpful as we also thought of the potential angles we could use, and how the resultant shots would end up looking.

Task 5

Raw Location Footage

This further developed the ideas of locations and angles we could use to film our music video. This also allows us to look back on how the surroundings, and things happening would affect our product. We feel the locations used would allow us to convey our ideas effectively, whilst maintaining the aesthetics that a music video requires.

Task 6

Props

Task 8

Filming Schedule

The filming and editing schedule was a basic yet hugely important task as it will ensure we reach various deadlines, allowing us enough time for the various required activities.

Task 7

Contacting the Band

This task helped us understand the realistics of the music industry. We are now aware of the ramifications of not getting copyright permission to use the song. During this task we had to find out who held the rights to the song, and due to various liquidations and buyouts, some research was required.

Task 9

Storyboards

Task 10

Lyrics Analysis

Task 11

Editing Plan

This task will massively aid us during the editing. As a result of watching these videos, we will have a higher ability on the editing software, allowing us to portray our ideas more clearly, and professionally. During this task I was surprised at how easy it was to find tutorials for some fairly vague effects

Task 12

Structure Plan

Task 13

Digipak Plan

Task 14

Poster Plan

These tasks helped us realise how we wanted to convey our artists. Both of these items are hugely important in this representation, and it is also important we took inspiration from the digipaks we looked at during research. As a result, both of these items follow the conventions of the genre we researched. Also, it was vital that we kept the same theme throughout all of our products, and as a result, in both the digipak and poster we chose to use the backdrop of the busy city scene, which is also going to play a large part in the music video. We hope the continuity of the advertising makes it appear more professional. However, we still need to decide what we are going to market both the artist and their album as. This process is going to take a lot of thought as we want to follow conventions of the genre.

Task 15

Risk Assesment

The health a safety plan is one that has to be done before any filming to ensure the safety of all taking part. We looked at the risks associated with the locations we choose, and more importantly, how we can minimise these risks. It is vital we keep referring back to this during filming.

Class Pitch

Not only did this task help the audience in understanding our music video, but it also helped us in refining our own ideas. This task helped us make all of our ideas more concise, anmd gave us a clearer picture of the bigger picture of our products. However, the pitch also gave us an oppurtunity for both ourselves, and others, to ask questions about our product, and therefore this will result in us developing our ideas even more and throughout the construction of our music video
